Dogwood Valley: Hope, Healing, and a Place to Grow, from the Rock Bottom up!
Discover Serenity at Dogwood Valley by Rock Bottom Farms
Dogwood Valley by Rock Bottom Farms is rooted in a steadfast mission to nurture personal growth through hope, healing, and purposeful living. Set within the restorative presence of nature, Dogwood Valley offers more than shelter—it provides a grounding environment where individuals can reconnect with the land, themselves, and a healthier, more sustainable way of life. Surrounded by open space, fresh air, and the rhythms of a working farmstead supported by Rock Bottom Farms, participants are given the space to slow down, reset, and rebuild.
Life at Dogwood Valley is guided by a structured and intentional daily rhythm designed to promote stability, responsibility, and forward momentum. Each day includes physical activity, time in nature, and productive projects that contribute to both personal development and the well-being of the community. From land stewardship and animal care to construction, maintenance, gardening, and skill-building projects, meaningful work is central to the healing process. These hands-on experiences help build confidence, reinforce accountability, and foster a renewed sense of purpose.
Guided by our core values of compassion, resilience, accountability, and transformation, we meet people where they are while encouraging steady growth toward long-term independence and success. Challenges are not avoided—they are approached as opportunities for learning, renewal, and personal responsibility. Through structure, connection to nature, and purposeful work, Dogwood Valley helps individuals establish healthier habits, stronger character, and practical life skills that carry forward beyond their time on the farm.
Dogwood Valley and Rock Bottom Farms are programs of GTKYF Foundation Inc., a grassroots nonprofit committed to building hope, healing, and strong communities from the ground up. When life falls apart and you have hit Rock Bottom…
Dogwood Valley by Rock Bottom Farms is here to help.
We here at Dogwood Valley by Rock Bottom Farms believe in second chances. We believe in compassion, empathy, and kindness. In a world that has lost these traits in many ways. Humans deserve love. Through our many years of working with the struggling marginalized aspects of society, we have hands-on real-world experience in rebuilding lives, neighborhoods, and communities.
IF you have decided it’s time for a change and you want to build a better life for you and your loved ones from your rock bottom up. We are here to help!
No one is denied service because of their beliefs, their heritage, their financial status, or their disability. Our Services are supported by donations and our for-profit service companies, operated by The STEP Group. Kinda like the “Goodwill” for the service and construction industry. This also provides income to those on the “work crew,” and a path to licensing in the respective trades.
What does it mean to provide Hope, Healing, and a place to grow from the rock bottom up?
To provide hope, healing, and a place to grow from the rock bottom up means creating a supportive, nurturing environment for people who are at their lowest point in life—emotionally, physically, or spiritually. Here’s a breakdown of each part:
• Hope is about instilling the belief that things can get better, even when circumstances seem bleak.
• Healing refers to the process of recovery—emotionally, mentally, spiritually, or physically—from trauma, hardship, or loss.
• A place to grow means offering not just temporary relief, but also long-term opportunities for personal development, learning, and transformation.
• From the rock bottom up acknowledges that someone may be starting with nothing—or less than nothing—and affirms that it’s still possible to rebuild a meaningful, thriving life from that point.
It’s a powerful statement of compassion, resilience, and commitment to walking alongside someone in their journey from despair to dignity.
“When you see something you don’t like in society, make a better system and follow your calling.”
